Indian Air Force AFCAT Selection Process
The AFCAT 02/2026 Recruitment follows a multi-stage selection process:
- Stage 1 – AFCAT Written Examination: Online computer-based test of 2 hours, 100 objective-type questions (3 marks each, –1 for wrong answers). Subjects: General Awareness, English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning & Military Aptitude.

- Stage 5 – Medical Examination: Final medical fitness check for all selected candidates.

Indian Air Force AFCAT 02/2026 Education Qualification
Flying Branch (AFCAT & NCC Special Entry):
- Passed 10+2 with minimum 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics AND
- Graduation (minimum 3-year degree) from a recognised university with at least 60% marks, OR
- BE/B.Tech degree (4-year course) from a recognised university with minimum 60% marks, OR
- Cleared Section A & B of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India with minimum 60% marks
Ground Duty (Technical) – Aeronautical Engineering [Electronics & Mechanical]:
- Minimum 60% marks in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level AND
- Graduation/Post-Graduation degree in Engineering/Technology from a recognised university
Ground Duty (Non-Technical):
- Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university with minimum 60% marks
